My first experience of Srikaanth’s obsession with swimming. …I vividly remember that morning 5 am back in 2017 when he landed in Bangalore airport after a 10 hour long flight and came straight to the swimming pool for a splash. His passion for swimming is so fascinating and unwavering and I have never fallen short of inspiration from him for pursuing this sport. I have ever since trying to learn to look at open water swimming as holistically and passionately as he does. I slowly began to understand that open water swimming is much beyond physical trainings. It has so much to do with mental strength. Although grit and determination is always built through experience and practise, they need a direction. I feel lucky to have Srikaanth guide me in the right path and groom me mentally when I plan and train for open water swims. I find it super easy and effortless to have open and indiscreet conversations with him about my fears, insecurities, low confidence and self doubts. Not a time I remember seeing him lose his cool. He is a patient listener. His ways and approach to guiding me has always been very practical, empathetic and non judgemental. When I have conversations with him I have seen a remarkable clarity on his thoughts and he is ever eager to share his ocean of knowledge on this subject.
